The new Mariscal Sucre International Airport opened in 2013 replacing the old airport. It is one of the busiest airports in South America and the gateway to Ecuador. The modern airport is located 18km/11 miles east of downtown Quito.
The airport has only one single terminal divided into domestic and international flights. It also has several FBOs for business aviation.
